A family crosses a bridge during the Chadar frozen river trek (Chadar trek, Zanskar ice trek). Each year in winter, hundreds of Ladakhi people make the 5 day walk on ice from their homes in the Zanskar Valley down the frozen Zanskar River to the beginning of the nearest motorable road in the area. Location: Zanskar river gorge, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Himalaya, India
